Darkness was a close friend of his, it seemed. It was always by Will's side, always in his thoughts, following him everywhere he went. He could swear he attracted death, cruelty and madness with every fiber of his being. Somehow, trouble always found its way around and it would sneak up to him like a hungry beast to leash out and bite into him when he least expected. Those metaphors painted a beautiful picture. No matter how much you denied it, everyone held some sort of admiration for the grotesque, the crazy in the world. But some more, some less, it seems. Somehow this place Will found himself in seemed to be even darker than the rest of the world. It was a venue for the strange and the mad. Fate meant well to put him there, maybe he was finally somewhere he - sort of - fit in. The only thing he couldn't wrap his head around was all that “magic” kinda stuff. He had been raised by an easy man who didn't believe in anything he couldn't understand. And even though he never was a big fan of his old man, his concepts stuck with him to this day. He would have to see one of those creatures with his own eyes.

Speaking of creatures, the white mare raised her voice again and as her fine voice reached Will's ears, they twitched. As she seemed to search for the right words, interrupting herself all over again he tilted his head, trying to look at her in an unobtrusive manner. For the smallest of a moment his eyes cast over hers, catching a glimpse of a fright in them that made him tremble like he got hit by an icy wind. Hurriedly he turned to face the sea once again, stretching his neck so that his head hang low. As she apologized once again, he snorted lightly. He tried with a comforting smile, which seamed kinda off and awry. “No worries..”, he mumbled. But when she introduced herself he felt like he had to look at her once again, so he shut his eyes before taking a step back and then turning his head towards the stranger. This time his eyes stayed focused on her lip that curled up to a inviting smile, her eyes were marked as dangerous territory. “My name is Will, Will Graham.”, he repeated her phrase and forced himself to twist the corner of his lips upwards for a second. Probably he was gonna be scored as rude once again. Not that he deeply cared, he had come to terms with living life as a loner.

The salty breeze took hold of their manes and played with them, as they stood by the cliff. What an odd pair they made standing there next to each other. And again Will turned to face the ocean. He chuckled slightly. “Troubled, huh? Aren't we all?”, it came out of his mouth before he could stop it. It was once again something most others would take as rude. But for him it was a small try of keeping up conversation. And it wasn't exactly an easy constellation, meeting a gorgeous mare in the middle of the night at the edge of a pretty deadly cliff. Wait, did he just think of her as gorgeous? He felt the tingle shame on his cheeks even though there was no way she could know his thoughts. Out of nervousness another chuckle came out of him.

Silent had fallen over him, only interrupted by the sound of the waves crushing against the cliffs. Accompanied by this silence Will had watched the sun go down, all the colors painting the cloudless sky, until it was drained and painted black. Then the whole scenery, including the black stallion, was covered in plain darkness. The night wasn't a stranger to Will Graham. Every now and then nightmares would wake him up in a sweaty mess. And he would be left to wander into the night restlessly. Or those nights, when his body moved without his permission and he woke up at a place he barely knew. It was as if every time he fell asleep he allowed luck to take over him and decide what happened to him. And Will preferred to be in charge. He preferred to be in charge of his choices, in charge of his body, in charge of his mind. Therefore he avoided sleep. It wasn't healthy and he knew that. Nonetheless he was almost scared of falling asleep, fearing where and how he'd wake up again.
He was so consumed by his thoughts that he only noticed the footsteps approaching him when they had already nearly reached him. The dark stallion clenched his muscles awaiting an approach of the stranger. Right then he heard the voice of a mare unknown to him. The tone promised a friendly encounter, but he knew better than to trust first appearances. Slowly he moved his head so that he could look her over. The stranger's coat was so white it seemed to glow in the low moonlight. She had a fine figure, seemed almost fragile. That also being a thing he wouldn't count on. She could hold a strange he wasn't able to make out in this darkness, but Will never had been a stallion intending to start a fight.
Good, um.. evening.”, he mumbled in a low voice. Hurriedly he cast away his eyes from her body and once again stared onto the horizon laying in front of him. He had sought loneliness in this place. Some peace and quiet to put an order to his thoughts. There was no intend to make her feel like an intruder, he just didn't know how to put up any conversation. Will wasn't a talent talker. He never found the right words, others would rather think of him as awkward or weird. Searching for something to say, a quiet sigh escaped his mouth. He really wanted to start a conversation, but he would fail anyways. He really felt sorry, so he once again moved his head towards the mare and tried an uncomfortable smile.
